If anyone has ever wondered where the River Po starts its long, slow path to the Adriatic Sea, it's here at 2020 metres above sea level.
The territory can be divided into 5 areas which group together geographic and environmental similarities.
The areas are: The Alta Valle Po, the Bassa Valle Po, the Mombracco, the Valle Bronda and the Valle Infernotto ed il Montoso.
The zone of the Valleys Po, Bronda & Infernotto is promoted by the Ufficio Turistico IAT delle Valli Po, Bronda e Infernotto in collaboration with the Comunita' Montana Valli Po, Bronda e Infernotto.
It is a part of Italy where food lovers will enjoy putting on the calories through the many culinary initiatives staged throughout the year, such as 'Sapori e Colori del Monviso' and the rice festival in Barge.
And where the sporty will love burning off the extra fat hurtling around on mountains bikes or skiing in winter.
Try one of the 9 recommended itineraries for discovering the territory in all its beauty and fascination.
