Description
The residents of Trastevere, the neighborhood on the 'left bank' of Rome, celebrate the festival of Noantri (loose translation: our very own ) for seven days, eating mountains of pasta and meters of grilled lamb and chicken. They sit outside in the piazza, under strings of lights, drinking copious quantities of wine and dancing and singing. The festival honors the Virgin of Carmine, their Madonna, who is worshipped in the church of Sant'Agata alla Lungaretta. www.festadenoantri.it
