The building featuring the balcony of Juliet is believed to have been the family home of the Cappellos who, according to legend were Juliet’s family, the Capuletis in the famous play by Shakespeare.

The balcony is part of a 14th century building known as Juliet's House and where Shakespeare's lovers are reputed to have wooed one another.
