The Casanova Restaurant can be found inside The Westin Palace Hotel in Milan and has become one of the main reference points for the Milanese fashionable food crowd.
The cuisine is mainly inspired by Mediterranean tradition, but Chef Augusto Tombolato and Maitre Corrado Giboni invite their guests to experience the best dishes of Italian regional tradition with a particular attention to the Lombard, Piemontese and Ligurian gastronomic culture. Basic ingredients guarantee a simple, light, fresh and natural preparation.
Taking an aperitivo in Italy has now become very fashionable in the main Italian cities, not least Milan. An aperitivo (or aperitif in English) is traditionally considered to be a pre-dinner drink, served to stimulate the appetite before a meal.
At most bars throughout Italy, drinks are served with a bit of potato chips and olives to snack on. But, in many bars throughout Milan, the idea of an aperitivo has since grown to include enough food to serve as a replacement dinner.
After ordering a drink, you are invited to help yourself to a buffet of various meats, cheeses, pastas, pizzas and grilled vegetables - selections vary among different bars. While full cocktail menus and wine lists are typically offered, the drink of choice amongst the Milanese is a Negroni, which is made using equal parts of Campari, Vermouth and gin.
Il Canneto is the in house restaurant of the new Sheraton Milan Malpensa Airport Hotel & Conference Centre.
It offers a tranquil and attractive environment for a gastronomic break between flights or a reference point for a convention or business meeting.
Just like the rest of the hotel, style is uppermost in the setting of Il Canneto. As soon as you enter, you eye catches the tall glass Wine Tower at the centre of the restaurant where, from Monday to Friday between 7pm and 8pm, you can join the Sheraton Social Hour an event designed to create and foster social interaction among guests, featuring world-renowned wines and other premium pours.
During the lunch time, our Chef Enrico Fiorentini presents the Quick Taste Lunch, a menu of Italian flavors with either a traditional pasta or a fresh pizza followed by a salad bar of seasonal ingredients.
These two experiences of Milan are run by Walks of Italy and feature visits to the most important sights of the city, not least the Duomo and the Last Supper.
