The company is run by Sara Cossiga, a freelance art historian graduated at the Ca' Foscari University of Venice.
She has been working for the Venice Biennale as an assistant of the Visual Art Dep, the Archive of Contemporary Arts and, since 1992, as a tour guide in Venice and the Veneto Region.
Sara is also a professional wine taster and sommelier and will introduce you to the cuisine and flavours of Venice and its territory by explaining how these local dishes developed and changed over the centuries and why we are still so enthusiastic about them today

VENICE WINE TASTING CLASSES
Each class lasts 90 mins and all tastings take place in a typical "osteria" or wine bar chosen for the quality of the wines and food products.
Conducted in English, your professional wine taster will involve you in the session and ask you about your sensations and impressions about wine.
She will help you to discover the true spirit of the land it comes from, give you information about its history and its organic characteristics, and its versatility in matching with local food.
1 hour and a half tasting of 2 or 3 different Doc wines, a selection of fresh cheeses, Venetian appetizers and bread.
VENETO REGION WINE TOURS
A one day workshop in the Veneto terroir from the Valpolicella Doc and Soave Doc areas to the Prosecco grape in the Treviso area and the Venetian surroundings of Lison-Pramaggiore Doc. area
This tour is designed for parties of a minimum of 2 participants and you will visit cellars carefully selected by Sara, not only for the quality of the wines produced but also for the preservation of the scenery, the history of the family, the way traditions evolved, and how the past continues to shape the present.
VENICE COOKING CLASSES
Spend one or more days learning about traditional Venetian cuisine, ranging from the strong flavours of Sopressa, local salami, to the delicate freshness of seasonal vegetables, from the sweet and sour dishes of Arabic influence like the celebrated Sarde in saor to the Baccalà alla Vicentina, Scandinavian cod baked in a milk and anchovies sauce, and regional cookies like the Zaeti, with corn meal and raisins.
In addition to an overall introduction by Sara, expert cook Mariagrazia will prepare the dishes in the well-equipped kitchen of a local Palazzo apartment near the Rialto market. All lessons are in English and last 3 hours. Lunch is included, as are aprons, utensils etc.
Minimum 2 - maximum 15 participants required. A booklet in English with the recipes of the day is provided Venice and Veneto Gourmet.
PRIVATE DINNERS
Exclusive private dinners in a Venetian house which also includes a guided wine tasting with a professional sommelier.
The dinner menus have been built from Venetian tradition and include local dishes such as Canapés made from Vacherin Cheese and White Truffle, Spinach Lasagna with Tomato, Asparagus, peas and scallions, and Chocolate flavoured Coffee mousse with Venetian cookies.
The private dinners are designed for 6-18 participants and a are great way to round off a stay in Venice.
GOURMET LAGOON TOURS
Venice and Veneto Gourmet has developed two special tours which focus on the islands of Burano and St.Erasmo. Each itinerary is based on a slow experience and a direct interaction with fishermen, "lagoon farmers", local chefs, wine producers who love their job and are committed in supporting traditional economy and a peculiar lifestyle.
