The Restaurant Dal Mago in the historical centre of Morro d'Alba in Le Marche has been run for over a century by the Romiti family, who also run the Shanti House Villa less than a kilometer away.
The restaurant is situated in front of the medieval walls and specialize in dishes from local Marchigiane tradition such as tortelloni pasta and meats.
All are prepared with fresh produce, extra virgin olive oils and served with the Lacrima di Morro d'Alba wine.
The recipes are still those handed down through the years when Spartaco Romiti was known as the 'magician' or 'mago' for the simple but delicious cuisine from rural tradition.
The main dining area features a collection of local paintings from the 1950's onwards while the centrally heated veranda serves diners throughout the year. It is ideal for after-dinner drinks outside during the summer.
Do check out the English style wooden bar full of Italian and international spirits to be enjoyed with locally sourced salami, hams and cheeses.
